Five Sentence Fiction – Awkward

What it’s all about:

Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.

Jacque was never fond of traveling through a rip; the awkwardness never lessened no matter how many times he had done it.

The rip looked like a tunnel where you get to fly through at terminal velocity—all around him, the “walls” of the tunnel were made up of time moving forward, backward, and some were even moving sideways.

The feeling was like having a thousand butterflies (but maybe pterodactyls would be more accurate) in the pits of your stomach.

Jacque reached the end of the rip and was thrown out into an open field, the sky was orange and the sun was halfway down the horizon.

The anomaly scanner in Jacque’s pocket started beeping madly; the anomaly was somewhere nearby, the chase had begun.
