Umbrellas

Umbrellas
Underneath me
Like
Rainbow lily pads
Moving, bobbing, bumping
Against each other
As the rain
Pitter patters
On their faces
The train starts moving
And my eyes shift
To the windows
Droplets racing on its
Surface
Like worms
Growing longer
The conductor
Announces our arrival
At the next station
My eyes close
Rain drowns my ears
Dream embraces me
Rainbow colored lily pads
Swimming before my eyes
I wake up
Only to see
I’ve missed my stop
